
After Hickory Farms acquired a California wine gift‑basket company, I developed the Taste of California brand, including our first private‑label wines. I created three tiered labels to pair with charcuterie baskets (SunSol — entry; Generosity Cellars — mid; Aunar — premium), designed packaging, and produced the complete brand style guide (logos, patterns, photography direction, and overall look and feel).

Wine Gifts
In developing the Taste of California collection, we aimed to create shareable, gourmet gift experiences. To ensure authenticity, we curated complementary California-made products from well-known regional brands alongside Hickory Farms favorites. Central to the collection is a private‑label wine program developed to perfectly pair with the gourmet snacks in each gift. Initially we had three private labels: SunSol; Generosity Cellars; and Aunar.

SunSol is the entry-tier California lifestyle label and includes imagery of iconic California scenes. SunSol was only used in Taste of California gifts.
Generosity Cellars is the mid-tier approachable label, that reflects the focus of Hickory Farms as a gifting company and was used in Taste of California and classic Hickory Farms gifts.


Aunar is the premium-tier label. The name is Spanish for “bring together” or “unite” and is a subtle nod to the Hickory Farms brand positioning of Bringing People Together. Aunar was used in Taste of California and classic Hickory Farms gifts.
