This small, family-owned & operated business is actually major player in the orchid industry and their greenhouse complex is one of the world’s largest orchid ranges. They specialize in unique and rare orchids and other interesting plants that always delight.

Opportunity

Their orchids are gorgeous, but their website and marketing collateral could use some help. My practical internet marketing professor, James Moore, kindly called their site “of its time”.  In other words, it is in serious need of an update.

Progress

I started by creating new logo and a concept site. Then I put together an Adwords campaign to see if we could generate any traffic to their current site – 118 clicks with 6,841 impressions this week. Not too bad for $1/day budget.
As I have worked on their site, it has become obvious to me that they really need a ecommerce platform template that is easy for them to self-manage. They are currently using Miva, but it is not completely integrated. I have looked into Shopify as an option, which seems to be the front-runner for small businesses. Who does have the best ecommerce platform for small businesses?
